Madison Senior High School Among Top 10 Public Schools In Idaho

by Holly Allen

One subject I am often asked about is information about our local schools. The best source for specific school information hands down is from the school districts' own website. I have provided a list of all the local school districts websites here

That being said, recently, my social media pages were buzzing about a survey published by Niche.com,  a company that provides views and insights from everyday experts for people who are making big life decisions. If you are wondering about the quality of education in Eastern Idaho, this may interest you. The survey reported that Madison Senior High School was ranked #8 out of the Top 10 best public schools in Idaho! According to Niche.com, a high ranking indicates that the school is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experience very highly.

Madison Senior High School has 998 students in grades 10-12. According to State standards, 92% are proficient in math and/or reading. Another great reason to move to Eastern Idaho! Congratulations to the administrators, teachers, staff, and students at Madison High.

Should I Buy a Home Now?

by Joe and Holly Allen

I'm often asked if this is a good time to buy a home. Some clients are concerned that home prices may fall down the road, while others are convinced that home prices will go up.

Home prices are one factor in determining your cost of ownership, but so are interest rates and financing availability. Even though interest rates have fluctuated, they are still near historic lows. Since your monthly mortgage payment is a combination of paying down your principal and paying the interest owed, a one point rise in interest rates could cost tens of thousands of dollars over the life of your mortgage!

While a home is a major investment, it is also the center of your personal life. It's important to live in a home that reflects your taste and values, yet is within your financial "comfort zone." To that end, it may be more important to lock in today's relatively low interest rates while they are still available.

Please give me a call if I can be of any assistance in determining how much home you can afford in today's market. -joe
